DKA - I understand to, when Mr. SWGB gets the idea that we should adopt it's time for my neice to come down and visit. That usually takes care of it.

These kids have solidified my conviction that I'm NOT cut out to be a middle school teacher. But I have always loved high school kids, and teenaged boys to me are the easiest to teach when it comes to fine arts.

This is why "Dead Poets Society" is such a great movie--they want to have a voice (especially if it means they can woo women) and if you can make their academics look like fine arts, all the better. They have their own dramas and pressure, but they get over it in a day or so.

Go read my last 2 blogs. It's hard to not love these boys!

I've observed the 5 art classes I'll be teaching, and its so different from performing arts--I won't have to keep them quiet and together, which takes the pressure off, and they stay so busy with their projects! I'm really excited about this new branch. As far as I know, I'll only teach art through the end of the school year, then (hopefully, if everything works out) it will be band, drama, and chorus in the fall. This job has worked out even better than any of us hoped...

Now I'm rambling. Thanks for all the good ideas--keep up the conversation, and I'll keep reading it for inspiration!

It all comes from the same place - which means it will be just as good of an experience as your other classes! Your music and drama background will enrich the art experience, and vice versa. We look forward to the "next chapter" in your blogs!

And I'm on standby for whatever I may help with.

The boys are lucky!
