Not nice to tell people "Don't enforce the rules right now."
Somebody just PM'd me that this Carpenter guy is A realtor, A planning department employee and an elected official. My god he is another jason catalano. Is anything a conflict in this county? Those people over the sign issue may be his future boss or political ally. Like cecilia jones chairing the TDC while her son is a beach vendor. Nobody gets this???? Cecilia district contributes just over 2% of the county's tax base but she wants to say how 90% is handled and who handles it. That my fellow posters is a great definition of a Bernie Sanders/ Hillary democrat. Good government must be as free as possible from conflict to be effective. That's why the military works so well. Everybody moves around so much, there are few alliances that can be made and less room for improper influence. Everybody reads the rules and executes the mission to the written standards fairly and without undue influence so the system works. Get to friendly with someone and "poof" they move you to new people and you start all over. I wish washington, state and local officials had this way of cleansing themselves through disciplined practices, but alas, such a wish is every true americans real wish.
Planning dept, Elected official....not a good mix even if not a realtor. Again, If he directs Tony's signs not to be taken down and Tony becomes one of his new bosses, I think we have an ethics violation. If a single commissioner directed larry, to direct wayne to direct Mac to direct code enforcement not to enforce the code,,,,, we probably have an ethics complaint and you are probably in Walton County if I had my eyes closed.
