Something is wrong here. Where's Dr. Cade? He and your DH need to go at it. :boxing:

I also clean my own carpets, occasionally buy Prada. It's all about justification. :D
You mean Dr. Cade, as in the UF professor who invented Gatoraide? You ARE a Gator if you know that. Unfortunately, he had such a fruity manner of speaking that I had to bite my lips to keep from laughing whenever I heard him. Maybe he thought Gatoraide could never be red - that's an UGA color! But he was/is one smart Gator. I dunno is he's still alive or not.

Even real Prada bags don't last. I bought one (over $1000) in June 2004. In August 2004 it starting falling apart. Neiman's sent it to Prada for repair. It was returned to me in late November. Two weeks later it started falling apart again. Nina at Neiman's gave me a complete refund. I bought a LV which will last me 7 years.

I'm totally serious. I'll clean carpet to make me not feel guilty for buying a handbag that'll last 7 years.

I will make you a handbag which can last for more than 7 years for $600. :D

LOL! Only heard him speak once, but it was at a game, so I didn't actually hear him. Too many noisy people before kickoff. I just thought it was funny that a UF-invented carpet cleaner could not take out a UF-invented famous beverage, but as you noted Dr. Cade did not make his beverage in red. So that's misplaced irony ... or something.

That was good of NM to do that. Wow. I bought a canvas/light blue Prada right before that, and it looks great. Can't bring myself to spring for an LV (at least the standard monogram) since everyone has one or one that wants to be one. I like the lesser-known LV designs though. Burberry is my fave. I have a thing about bags, but not shoes or jewelry, and I wear sensible clothes, and I don't get my nails done, or hire a cleaning lady ... oh, more justification.

Oh, no ... it's my first tangent. At least I gave Rita an answer first!

I am uncertain about other SEC teams, but UGA does not purchase Gatorade. They drink Powerade (Coke product) keeping the money at home. Way too much UGA money tied into Coke. Although, the real reason may be that the DAWGS don't like the Gators' ade.

Beach Runner, does it work well on stain removal? We had those renter kids trash our 2-yr old berber carpet with a food (and liquor) fight, and it basically needs replacing now ...steam cleaning didnt work. If I can eak out another year with a good product, I'd do it.

I don't know about the other product, but Resolve works great on removing stains from carpet. You can find Resolve in the grocery store, and many large box retail stores.

Rita: While I clean my own carpets at home, I do not drive 6 hours to do so at the beach. We have used Beachy Clean and have been happy. They also did our water extraction post-Ivan and were very professional. (850) 685-0392. I think maybe they're based out of FWB?

Thanks TFT. I saw their ad in the South Walton phone book.

Back when my husband just got his Ph.D. from UF, he developed a product called Capture. It's a dry product, so it doesn't leave the slimy residue that a wet cleaner leaves (like, you can't exactly rinse wet stuff out of a carpet). One of the many places that sells it is Home Depot. Some stores rent out a scrubber so you can apply it, scrub it, wait a couple of hours, and vacuum it up. It's great for quick spot cleaning, too. It's such a good product that we've done our own carpet cleaning for 25 years.

Great product. This is not an advertisement. We've already been compensated for his work. That's one reason why we can afford a second home on 30-A.

Wow...I'll vouch for this product! I've never tried it on a large area, but it's an awesome stain remover. My son introduced me to Capture several years ago when he was working part time at Home Depot while going to school. I had been complaining about a couple of dirty areas on my carpet that I couldn't seem to get clean. He brought home a small tub of the powder and a bottle of the soil release mist. He sprayed the mist onto one of the spots, let it sit for a short while and then tossed on some of the powder and lightly scrubbed it into the carpet with a small brush that was supplied inside the tub. After a short wait, we vacuumed the area and was I surprised when the stain was gone!

Tell your hubby thanks for a great product. I keep a supply downstairs on the garage shelf :clap_1: !

If you want to pay someone to do it for you, I have no recommendation. We are do-it-yourselfers so that I have money left for $1000 Louis Vuitton bags. LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

I am going to Home Depot TODAY, wearing a smug smile as I purchase some Capture, 'cause I correspond with Mrs. Capture! Thanks for the info- wish you had mentioned it sooner! (I'm just way to excited about cleaning today- I better go back to bed.)

Oh yeah- even if I clean my own carpets, there won't be any LV bags coming throught the door any time soon. We are headed to Disney in 2 weeks---  . Trying to figure out if my daughter would get $350 of enjoyment out of Cirque.

Oops- now way off topic.

A friend of mine recently took his 9 and 7 year olds to Disneyworld and while there went to Cirque. That was the highpoint of their trip. All I heard about from the 9 year old was Cirque. Not a word about Disneyworld.
