We are definitely scaling back this year. Just trying to get all of the family together is proving difficult. We agreed to no gifts for the big people. The kids will get a few things with focus on board games, art supplies, books and things like that.

I spent one Christmas with a friend's family, walked in and the entire room was filled with gifts which I figured had to be for a million family members that would come later but NOOOO, they were all for the 5 people in the room. It turns out every item came from a yard sale (except the 12 pack from Cousin Bob). The whole night was hysterical.
My brother and sister and I are now one the prowl for great yardsales.

I love this idea!! Funn!!

Someone I have done for several years that I will not give up is to randomly tip the server's in the drive thru windows. It absolutely makes my day. I make up Christmas envelopes and put a $5 bill in them and give them to some very friendly person at the local fast food drive thru.

I will cut back on something else before I give this up.
great idea, I will have to try it! :D

Minnie, what about the men who take away your garbage? Think about all of our smelly crap they have to experience.
We always try to give them water/sodas in the summer when the heat is on them. Men who pick up your garbage are many times forgotten I feel...
