This is driving me nuts because I know it looks beautiful and yet I have to wait three more weeks before I can see it for myself. Maybe Smiling JOe will take pity and snap a photo for us? Pretty please!
Gullfriend, Donna did give us a photo! Go to the Photo Gallery.

Donna,
It looks beautiful. The doors are the best. When you get a chance, please pm me with the stain color and brand for your deck. We're looking right now at different "driftwood" colors for our new deck.

Here is one I took on May 8 from the beach on May 8. The sky was a bit hazy with the high humidity, but if you click on the photo, you can enlarge it and have a good shot of the colors.

This paint scheme is so much more elegant than its brash mulberry pinky predecessor. Suits the house very well. Thanks for the extra photo, SJ.

Thanks, everyone for the feedback and the photos. The old refurbished "The Conch Out" sign has resumed its former place of distinction, the last task accomplished. How can I wait until early October to see the results firsthand? House is rented out for the entire season, however. Plus, we are so busy here.

A rainy afternoon of menu planning on tap with Chef Jeffrey today, who is cooking a three-course Vietnamese dinner for 8 tonight at our house. He makes homemade cinammon buns for my carbo-loading, bicycling husband and also makes two entree dishes to get us through the week. Has started working as an on-call chef for Beringer and Cakebread Wineries, but promises he will not cop out on us for the FL trip, which he's very excited about. He has fabulous ideas for the dinner. Has also suggested that we do a cooking class/dinner night or two. It will be a week of fun and good eats.

We are off to Bainbridge Island, WA next week for about 10 days. Butter is also going. Rented a guest house on a little farm that backs up to a nature preserve. The lady has twin lambs and a nest of baby ducks. We won't be able to distinguish The Butter from the lambs. The Island is unquestionably a different kind of "beach" experience, a 35-min. ferry ride from Downtown Seattle. I will give you a full report.

Donna, Conch Out looks beautiful in her or is it his new "coat"! You must be thrilled. Your catered beach affair sounds like the perfect event for your "new" beach house. Congratulations!

I LOVE reading your posts. I can visualize every place you write about! How is the book going, BTW? And I can't wait to hear about Bainbridge Island!
