Thanks again to everyone for great suggestions and feedback. We really like the house. As you now know, the house color is sea oats, the trim white beach, and the French doors Gulf waters. The stain on the deck is unbleached driftwood. We chose the greenish-turquoise for the doors because it is the color many cultures all over the world use to ward off "the evil eye." In our case, the eye of the storms! So when you walk past, send in your own quiet request for an uneventful storm season this year. A positive thought and a turquoise door just might send a message straight up to heaven.
SJ, thank you so much for taking photos. Since Marty could not see the house during any phase of the paint/stain job, he especially appreciated the photos. And all the positive feedback has been very reassuring. We are rather sensitive about the size and visibility of Conch Out and feel that it needs to fit in as best it can for that reason, yet be distinguished.
For all of Conch Out's visitors over the years (and we absolutely love hearng from you and receiving photos of your families), we hope you will continue to think of Conch Out as your own house at Grayton Beach. Goodness, some of you have stayed there longer than we have! She has a good spirit and your loyalty year after year is greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you on the beaches.
