Actually my husband did. He downloaded all of the technical specifications for the products we were considering and made the decisions on what to buy. Those engineers - I mean, they read technical specifications for pleasure!

:lolabove: ..so so true! PawPaw loves any spec sheet, map, schedule, blueprint!!! I am so intrigued by all you cooks! All I can add is I love my two drawer dishwasher (Fisher Paykel). It is a dream to load and unload!

Same here Miss Kitty. I wish I liked to cook. I cook, but I don't like it.:bang:
Actually, I told my husband that my dream house has no kitchen. I have cooked the last 24 years, I think it's his turn. :clap_1:

TFT's dream kitchen:

Wolf 36" range with red knobs
42 inch Vent-a-Hood
2 dishwashers: One set of Fisher and Paykel dishdrawers in the butler's pantry (yep it's a dream kitchen) and one top of line Miele with cutlery rack next to sink
2 30" Sub Zeros, one all freezer and one all fridge, both with drawers on the bottom
plus Sub Zero wine unit

This is if money and space is no object
(darn it, now you got me started)

lol Skunk
heh
We had a 42 inch Vent-a-hood in--yes, Denver.
I've heard that Sub-Zeros have a terrible repair history, but hey, a dream kitchen has no repair troubles, right?
We had an LG french-door fridge in Denver but it took a couple nasty dents just from dogs brushing against it--I don't think they make fridges like they used to.

Yes, our Sub-Zero has been a nightmare. So many repair problems, and no one with the expertise to take care of them. When it goes (and I predict that it will go before its time), I won't get another one.

Cil, I don't think they make any appliances like they used to. Things today are built to be replaced when the next best newer better thing comes along. Sad but true, as evidenced by repair bills than nearly match original purchase price. :bang:

it is impossible to cook w/ electricity. the heat isn't constant and it is more difficult to regulate the temperature.

agreed on that one.

Gas is definitely preferable. Induction is ideal, but in order to afford it, you have to be willing to sell your firstborn child.
