Unless they changed it the official name was Scenic County Highway 30-A East or West depending on which side of Grayton you were on.

We use and most all other print publications use AP guidelines. Which means make it as short and as understandable as possible. Our editor uses CR-30A and that's what we follow. I see other print publications using the same designation or a slight variation. Some mailing addresses use this as an example. 5235 East CR30-A when I Googled it just now.

That damn hyphen is moving around as fast as your road-pig! Can't we all just settle on "Pretty Pretty 30A"...too many syllables?

Just call it one of the most beautiful drives from end to end in the nation and let it go at that. My address labels say 30A, for which I'm eternally grateful.

Roads have one official name according to the post office, yet they can have several aliases to make sure mail is delivered. The question was what is the official name, not what could be used to get the mail to someone. When we set up the 911 system years back we had to provide the post office a list of official names. The one I gave is what we used then unless it has been changed.

Great example of government at work. One official name, yet not good enough to get mail delivered?:D
