Had lunch there on opening day. It was OK, but they have a ways to go on quallity, quantity, and price for what you get. It will take a while to make adjustents. Hope it works out for them. Will be a nice addition to the marina. Will eat there again soon.

LOL....drive around Freeport for 10 minutes and see that nothing is normal anymore.
I hear you - Freeport is a SoWal bedroom community now. Too bad prices have risen so high.

Just my opinion but any restaurant not on 331 is going to need to be fantastic food and service first and foremost and then generate a mystique to draw in people from SoWal locals and tourists. Black Creek lodge and the Outpost are both nice spots if they can step it up.

I don't think they're trying to cater to a bridge crowd, luring people from sowal shouldn't be a business model in Freeport.

Yep, being off the beaten path and not out there 'in your face' will take special advertising and promotion. The established river and bay fishing crowd are pretty well up on things, but there is always a very large market out there that is not aware.

For sure - I mean look at Nick's drawing people from SoWal - sure they had the restaurant in Blue Mountain Beach for recognition but they draw locals and tourists and it's quite a haul. People crave authentic experiences at the beach.

Black Creek or 331 between the bay and 20 is easy. A good restaurant will draw plenty across the bridge. Although there are enough Freeport folks in Hammock Bay now to support a good place.

Nick's has been drawing in people from all around including the beach for many years. Folks like the location, the ambiance, and the food is good. Also, he holds a number of events outside that draw in hundreds of fun seekers.

His market is different than the Outpost and Black Creek Lodge.
