Are the gloves/socks to keep all that junk off the sheets or for something else? :dunno:

They are to keep the junk on your hands, You know to absorb it into those dry cracked hands and fingers.....goofy.

You should know by now that anything that is said on this board, can and will be used against you, every chance we get. :D

Now that we have moved here, this is the FIRST year in DECADES that I have NOT had the cracked hands problem. Believe me, I know your pain!

This is what I used for years and years:
Eucerin
I use the lotion during the day.
At night, after a shower, I used the cream on my hands and feet.
Still use it on my pathetic old feet.

Bag Balm is great and I would use it on occasion but the Eucerin is never greasy, it just sort of absorbs right in. And I love the scent.
It smells like fresh doughnuts. :)

Anyone else have this problem this time of year? My fingers hurt so dang bad! It is amazing how bad those little cracks can hurt. I've heard of all kinds of remedies but none are working for me. Right now the only way I can get them to stop hurting is to either superglue them or put that neosporin with pain stuff on them. :bang:
My son does, and we've tried all sorts of stuff; it's very hard to combat, I know. Right now we're using Aquaphor; have you tried that? I've read ahead and looked at some of the other suggestions, so I know you don't like the greasiness, which Aquaphor does have, BUT it has no smell. And I'm with SS--when it's really severe, I have my son put it on at night and sleep with gloves. :sosad:

i am very familiar with this problem, the soap we have in the iv room at work is so strong it literally peels the skin off my fingers and hands. i found a lotion in a blue tube called curel ultra healing ( should be at any pharmacy or dept. store) that is working really well for me this year. kinda greasy when you first put it on but after you rub it in, is really nice. also the vaseline or bag balm applied and night and worn with gloves or socks is a great idea too. there is a lotion you need a prescription for called lac-hydrin for extremely dry skin - works great, but burns like the dickens if you have open areas, i had to quit using it in the winter.

Well I sure am glad I'm not the only one with this problem. Mrs. LL called me a freak because my hands were so screwed up.
