Oooh, I knew I'd get a Midwestern vote of sympathy! :clap_1: I have a space heater going right now and the furnace man is on the way. Our guys are good like yours, Paula. They'll fiddle with the old gal and make her work again. I think the humidifier is definitely something to look into. JohnRudy, I usually go walking with one of my friends every Tuesday morning, but we had to call it off this week because of the wind chill. :sosad: It was too darn colddddddddddddddd!

Paula...congrats on the recliner!!! Now all you need is a snuggly blanket!

Mermaid...I feel a little of your cold pain! Our furnace was being replaced yesterday and after close to 9 hours of work, they saw they were running out of duct and had to quit! 2/3 of the house has NO heat and I am typing in my COAT! Luckily, it is only 30 degrees outisde, although it is dropping as I sit here! They should be here shortly to finish or else heads will ROLL!

Ohhhh, I feel so bad for you with having no heat! It must be brutal.
Our temp. right now is 0 degrees and a wind chill of -15. It is absolutely horrible.

Ain't that the truth? Too cold for Christmas shopping - guess I'll start online!

(By the way, for those of you who helped me decide between a couch or recliner for my new office, I chose the recliner. It gets delivered next week. So, I'll be able to start my car from the recliner...pretty cool)

 Love it!

BRRR - It's even in the 20s this afternoon in Texas with sleet, ice, snow .......
I went shopping yesterday - it was in 50s and was 89 Saturday (a record).

As they say - if you don't like the weather in Texas, just wait a day 'cause IT WILL CHANGE.

Mermaid: You will definitely appreciate the humidifier linked to the furnace. We noticed the difference in our throats, skin, and hair right away. It's very easy to install and manage. Ask your good furnace people. Just remember to change the filters regularly.

As for my recliner and remote car starter, I'm a "nester" at heart, even at work. I actually think it will make me more productive -- and we'll find out. As for the cozy blanket, I think my colleagues will think I've gone completely over the top if I do that! Though I think I'm going to get a lot of company from colleagues wanting to visit and sit in the recliner.

Thanks, Paula. I thought today I might make some jewelry, but my hands are so dry that they feel like old witch's claws, and I fumbled with the beads and wires. This dry air is the pits. :sosad: I will talk to our service providers about this, better them than dermatologists!

We can't have a humidifer anymore 'cause both kids have mold allergies- the allergist said No No to moist air. I am starting to notice the dryness in my skin, and Kate's hair has permanent electricity! And dry throats in the am. :sosad:
