It is so windy at the beach that it feels as if the house is going to blow away. It is almost 60 degrees, but feels cold due to the wind. Crazy!

Also crazy ... snow and ice coming to GA. Until January 2010 it was so warm in GA that I didn't need a coat. Last January and this January have been totally different.

EDIT: Hey GTTBM, the Weather Channel just reported that somebody in Snellville tweeted them and said that the grocery stores there are packed with people stocking up for the storm.

Global warming? I think not. It's back to cold winters.

Yes BR the stores were a hot mess yesterday. I did pick up a few things. But I parked a couple of stores down walked in snagged what I needed and was in and out in no time. Someone has now remembered something he wants but forgot so I'm about to be in the mix again! Filling up my trucklette and our gas can for the generator is also on my list this a.m. Snow is fine. The ice they are predicting sucks! Our SIL is coming over to help me get everything ready just in case, since FBB is still not 100%.
So I have chocolate, beer, and pretzles I'm as ready as possible!

We don't have a generator. I guess if we lose power, we'll sit in front of the gas fireplace.

Glad you have the food essentials!

I'm waiting for the snow!!! It's currently raining and 37 degrees in the Big "D". I am making a huge pot of tortilla soup today. I have beer and wine. A good day to watch some football! :D

LOL I was on a quest for a bag of Ice Melt this morning. All the Home Depots, Lowe's, and WalMarts were completely sold out. I swung by the Ace Hardware and they had a truck that had just rolled in with a shipment. I stood in line for almost an hour, but I did score 80lbs of the stuff! I'm thinking of "scalping" off 40 lbs of it!

On the other hand if this event would like to bypass us all together, I'd be totally fine with that.

LOL!!!! "scalping" Ice Melt!!!! Chris just stepped outside and he said it is already slick on our sidewalks. If I lived near you, I would take it off your hands!! He is about to venture out to pick up both of our girls who spent the night with friends last night. He has 4 wheel drive!

Oh well, my theory if we are prepared the weather will stay away has failed. We have about 6.5 to 7 inches of snow. Now the nasty sleet and the really ugly freezing rain is upon us. I may get to use that coveted ice melt that I stood in line for so long yesterday after all. Glad our generator works! I think we're gonna need it!

Wow, that's a lot of snow. I just hope we don't lose power. We couldn't buy wine yesterday at the store (Georgia ...), and now due to icing we can't get out of our driveway to get some. Think I can call 911 and get them to pick some up for us? This is an emergency for us!

Can't believe it sleeted in SoWal!

Oh no BR! I'm going to have to give you a failing grade on your planning skills! Bet that won't happen again. :). Our snow came fast and furious! I let my dogs out a little past 9 last night, no snow in sight. Let them in and puttered in the kitchen for about 10 minutes. Looked on the deck from the kitchen window and it was a total whiteout. Ground was completely covered. The flakes were huge! Really pretty coming down.
