Cumberland Island photos

I spent all of Monday on Cumberland Island. Note that the spiders in the photos literally spanned nearly a foot in length and appear to have skulls! Imagine running into that while walking in your yard at night.

I did see that and a bit more, especially since only 50 people are allowed on the 18-mile long island per day ;-)

Wow! Never been there, but the college where I'm a department chair owns a boatload of property there. Sometimes the biology department takes a bunch of students there for research (and funn -- I'm not gonna lie). I *must* join them sometime.;-)

BTW the presence of spiders is occurring sooner than normal here in GA. I dunno why. Normally I don't notice them until October.
