Wow! Never been there, but the college where I'm a department chair owns a boatload of property there. Sometimes the biology department takes a bunch of students there for research (and funn -- I'm not gonna lie). I *must* join them sometime.;-)

BTW the presence of spiders is occurring sooner than normal here in GA. I dunno why. Normally I don't notice them until October.:dunno:


I heard our dry weather up here is triggering an early fall..could that be it?

Looks like a pretty place. Never been there. Bsmarty, I love that tree in your tar. Looks like the perfect club house tree.

Since there are only 17 private land owners on the island, that is pretty cool.

Dry weather does essentially trigger an early fall. The lack of water to the trees shuts them down or forces them to go dormant, losing their leaves so that the tree can conserve energy, thus similar to what the cooler fall weather does.
