Getting desperate?

I like this part of the ebay listing:

"The high bid does not secure the purchase of the lot."
*****************
So why would people bid?

Is this your lot/ad or just one that you found on ebay? It will be interesting to see if this way to sell/buy works or not. :dunno: Very professional ad, great pictures, and info (IMO). Great looking lot if you like Cypress Dunes. Auctions are being advertised in the Atlanta paper and they have advertised quick sales in the Destin area. These are not distressed or foreclosure auctions but people that have chosen to use the professional auction method vs the traditional real estate MLS and realtors to sell their lots, condos, and houses.

It shows that there are many ways (other than writing the price on the back of a card) to buy/sell in this age of Internet and other means.

Anyone have an opinion (I'm sure someone does) or any data on the results of this professional auction method. Seems to be more adds in the Atlanta Journal and Constitution for this method these days. :welcome:

Not sure I'd buy from someone with no feedback. I wonder if he accepts Paypal. :rotfl:

Hmm? Is it a binding agreement once the auction ends? I would hate to be a participant in the Court Room on this one. Disclaimer or not, it may not matter. Any Real Estate Attorney out there? Comments?:dunno:

How do these Professional Auctions work? I have heard there are 2-5 known buyers before the auction ever takes place?

Let me get the info from Sunday's AJC and shoot it to you in a PM. As I say, I'm not for/against these methods but am interested in all ways to buy/sell. Hey back in the day (late 70s and early 80s), alot of people didn't believe in the fax machine, the cell phone, or email/vmail and now look at us.

River<---Not an attorney--->Otter here but if you have an offer and acceptance, isn't that a binding contract??

I think the auctions are great if you want to sell on a specific day. The problem is that the right buyer may not show up on that day. These auction companies do tend to advertise the auction very well, but even though I have wanted to show up for several in this area, I have yet to make it to one.

That is my thought, so there is some confusion regarding the disclaimer, which I posted from the ad. The problem is the details. The winning bidder does not close on the day the auction ends. The winning bidder simply gets to write an offer? Does not make sense to me, but it is an interesting way to get people looking (or laughing) at the property. Bad press is still good press theory?
