Sorry Bobby, to you, your daughter and your whole family.
We have one of our dogs on the dog wall, who passed away 6 years ago. We had angel wings and a halo painted on her when she passed away.
The Studio Gallery arranged the paintings of the dog wall, for a donation, you could give them a picture and they would paint your dog.
Maybe a sign could be made with your dog's picture on it and placed on East Mitchell. It might help to remind people to slow down.

Oh, my goodness! Hubby buried our three miniature poodles when they died (at different times, of course). He built each of them a mahogany casket. When he buried our darling Mocha, he said it was the hardest thing he'd ever done. He wept as he dug the hole. When our sweet Weimaraner Winnie died, he said he just couldn't stand the thought of burying her. We had her cremated, and she stays in a box in the garage, her favorite place to nap.
Bobby J, You are such an eloquent writer, maybe you could write a letter and have it delivered the old fashioned way. I'll give you a stamp. That way you would be able to express your anger and hurt and you would at least know that the person who did itdefinitely got the letter. Hopefully s/he would actually read and gain some understanding from hearing straight from you. And doing via the post office would definitely prevent immediate confrontation.
You are all so right about the speeding in both Pt. Washington's, I am so fearful that another dog or one of these precious toddlers (or even teenagers and adults) are going to get hit one day.
It is so easy to get going fast on these long roads, I know I have to really watch myself to keep it at 15-20 around here.

There has to be some law or statute that makes it illegal to kill an animal w/ a car and not stop or report it. BJ & co, I give you major kudos for wanting to take the high road, let karma take its toll, and prevent further stress/trauma, but seriously there has to be something on the books for this situation.
Bobby J - I am so sorry to hear about Murray the sweet dog. yes, the person was terribly wrong not to stop. it speaks volumes about this person, whoever it may be, and we really do not need to know. surely it was an accident that could happen to anyone. but its how a person deals with such an accident that makes a big difference. and while the driver chose to take the low road, you guys have most definitely taken the high road - and I admire you all very much for that. I will be thinking of your daughter - I can totally relate to what she is going through after experiencing a similar accident with my beautiful Coco lab several years ago right on our little dirt road.
It's amazing how such an ugly thing can serve to remind you how amazing your friends and family really are 
People like yourselves make up for the few awful people that there are in South Walton. I'm back in Gainesville, and man, do i miss my lil Murry~ his spot on the couch is way too empty, but it's nice to know that i'm never really alone, and there are lots of you who understand.
( And don't tell BobbyJ, Romeosmydog, or SammyJJ, but i'm sure a new commemorative tattoo and possibly a pet bunny will help, too )
