On 30A if an oncoming vehicle crosses the center in front of you, and it is before 4 PM they are texting or talking, and possibly drunk: after 4PM they are talking or texting or just plain drunk. (Am I over-generalizing?)
if they're on any SOWAL roadway before 9am, and do the same, then they're either texting, talking, drunk, or applying make-up! I watched a lady weaving to and fro amongst the lanes by Silver Sands Factory Stores; she was applying mascara!....how the heck does one do THAT and see to drive? I'd be afraid to poke my eye out, not to mention run in to someone's butt! She must have been of the thought: "Hey, if you're going to have an accident, at least look good!" I guess that getting up 10 minutes earlier, and applying make-up prior to the ride to work, is too much to ask......one needs their "beauty sleep"!
I see it ALL the time, even on the freeway. I've done it a few times and I almost rear-ended someone recently. Very stupid, very. Of course, at the time i thought it was important. :roll:
I talk on my cell phone in my car because I can voice activate a call with a Bluetooth connection between the car and the phone. Incoming calls come in through my stereo system. Totally hands free.
I never text in the car. Slow typist. Hubby texts and reads/sends email while driving. Scares the heck out of me.
I can't imagine ever having the need for texting while driving. I've noticed a lot of extremely careless driving from cell phone users, and I'm using my horn more than I ever would have thought necessary.
