Last night a tornado touched down a couple of miles from my family. My cousin owns a convenience store that was totally destroyed. My sister said everything was leveled to about knee high. Thank God it was closed and no one was there. Everyone that works there is family. Mom said it was very emotional to see such destruction so close to home. Most of my family, sister, cousins, brother, aunts, uncles live within 2 miles.

Oh ssb. I'm so sorry this happened to your family. My prayers for recovery.

I'm sorry to hear that...I was watching the news carefully Friday evening because the storms were headed toward my house, too (I was on vacation.) Nothing but a bit of hail at home, but I have lots of friends around Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Saturday morning on the Today show, a woman was telling about her experience--she didn't know the weather was so bad, and barely had time to get herself and her family into a closet before the roof came off her house. The interviewer, Lester Holt, asked her what her thoughts were when she saw what had happened, and she said, "Life can change in an instant, and life is precious."

It was hard to find anything else to say after that.

Oh ssb. I'm so sorry this happened to your family. My prayers for recovery.

Thanks ya'll. They'll rebuild it. The store is a necessity in their community being the only one in a stretch of about 20 miles. Just glad no one was there.
