OhioBeachBum, we went down to the RCA dome on Saturday for an afternoon of band music! It was so much fun. Every single band was so different than the next. We particularly liked the color guard--our daughter did that freshman year so it reminded us of that. I am in awe of all the talent that is out there. Amazing! :clap_1:

I thought of you as we watched all the parents scurrying on the field to set up and break down. Man, do you guys ever hustle!

Some groups can get busy with prop stuff - ours is pretty simple this year. Quite a few outfits are so big and/or have so much crap they have semis to haul it around (and big $$ parents to foot the bill ;-) ).

One group had a tractor hauling their props on the field!

Hey Otter,
I though I read on some thread that you were a drummer. You migh appreciate the work that went into this (vid clip - pretty grainy, unfortunately - I didn't do the conversion):
Drumline
Couldn't resist showing off my boy & his buddies doin' one of their their things (mine's center snare - in the center ;-)). These guys are only HS sophomores & Juniors now - things are probably gonna get even more interesting next year. :D

That is very cool...thanks for sharing!!!!! :clap_1:

Does your boy have a drum set?

Sorry for the lag - 'nother work bump...
Yep, we got him a low end (<1K) set 'bout 3 years ago for christmas. Since replaced all cymbals with Zs (I think they must be made out of gold, for what they cost  ), and stands with pro-quality stuff, put higher-end damped heads on all the shells, and picked up a double-bass pedal. Shells are next (groan - there's at least another 1200 for decent Perl maple or birch ;-) ).

He doesn't play 'em much during marching season - tends to pick back up on the set the other 9 months out of the year...
