The world has now seen the footage. I feel sadly for the "Office of the Presidency," and that it would be tarnished in this way...

... As for the individual in that office now...(smirk) I can't wait for Saturday Night Live's rendition this weekend!!! W00-hoo!!!

IMO, the Office of the President was not tarnished by the actions at this event. It was actually handled fairly well IMO. The Office was tarnished long ago. This stunt is just a distraction from the struggling economy, and deserves very little attention. If we thought we would get away clean, many Americans would love to whirl a shoe or two.

Does anyone else keep hearing Mike Meyers/Austin Powers saying "Ouch, that hurt! Seriously, who throws a shoe!" when you read this thread?

:rotfl:Yes!

Like other people, I am amazed he was allowed the time to grab his other shoe and throw it before somebody body slammed him to the ground.

If the reporter actually did accomplish on thing, it was to get Bush to lean further to the left than he ever has before!

:funn:

Yes, that was funny, but how long since you posted the first video have you been saving that gem? ;-)

Saddam Hussein inflicted more human misery in Iraq and her environs than Bush ever did. I wonder why no reporters ever threw a shoe at him?:dunno:
He would have killed them.

Seriously - in the initial news story they mentioned something like this would have meant a death sentence under Saddam.
