:nono1: be nice. The more you make, the more you pay. Which in turn goes to help the poor woman who is trying to get her life together.

~~~~~~
I hope that the $$ will help some people. I just dont think that many of the people in poverty will use it in the best way.
Unless you are Warren Buffett I think I saw where his receptionist pays a higher percent of her salary in taxes than he does:dunno:
I guess my house won't be included in that list of places to get internet. I hear the good parts of the HDTV, regarding more volume of info, interlinked to internet with tv commercials, programming, etc. The thing that rubs me raw is the requirement, and the way they are promoting it -- "The quality is so great that in 2009, everyone will be required to have HDTV." Now that is a crock.
Yup. Cause it appears to me that they are doing all of this so Google can buy the bandwidth for future use.
At least that is what I get at www.churchofgoogle.org.
Has anyone heard about the possibility of being taxed on health insurance benefits...calculating company paid health insurance as an income to be taxed on?
It wouldn't surprise me. I am more surprised that they don't already count it as income.
Is it possible that I can bypass this HDTV requirement? I may have to throw my tv through the door at the Capital building. Is it also possible that I could avoid getting arrested for doing so?
Now I am really confused. :dunno:
I thought, perhaps wrongly, that high definition and digital were two different deals. When analog broadcasting goes away, you will need a tv capable of receiving a digital signal. Right now you can buy one of those for $150 or even less, but it won't receive high definition unless you buy a more expensive set. I don't know about satellite, but MediaCrap charges more for high definition programming, and I'm not buying it.
I agree though that however it is, it is going to generate a ton of waste. And confusion. :bang:
I was wondering this too - on my W2 they lumped my partial health care reimbursement in with my salary.
It's on my to-do list to check this out as the payroll company has such a severe case of rectal cranial inversion, I wouldn't be surprised that they screwed it up! :bang:
And I am not surprised Warren Buffet doesn't pay a high income tax - his salary is only $100k a year, he bought his current house for less than $40k in the late 50s and has donated most of his fortune (more than $30 BILLION) to charities.
Little 'ole Analog me doesn't know the difference between digital and high-def TVs or signals. I just know that people throwing out many useless TVs for Americans, will cause a crap load of plastics in the landfills and needless waste of perfectly good items.
