The Democrats were beyond arrogant. Now they grovel for common ground... Take your medicine while The brakes are applied.

It will be very interesting to see how Obama reacts. He will either become outrageously arrogant or he will tone down and focus on 2012. I don't see him toning down and that will be the end of him.

As I read over these post I am still amazed that people actually think there is a difference in the parties. All I see is the next group of crooks in to replace the ones that just left... It's like we are picking a favorite football team or my dad can beat up your dad. They laugh at us and we keep getting the shaft. In four years this will all flop back over to the other crooks and we will all keep on arguing over who has the better team. Meanwhile, we get screwed.

The real question is did prop 19 pass? I am ready to get high. :sarc:

Agree 100%.

In 2006 and 2008 we dumped the Creeps and elected the Nuts. Now we've dumped the Nuts and brought the next batch in. Not sure of the appropriate moniker yet but I doubt anyone's ownership is in doubt.

Sadly Prop 19 failed. How could a state that elects Nancy Pelosi reject the legalization of weed. I don't understand that at all.

As some races were close and some are still being contested, I have a serious question that is not intended to rile up the masses but just curious about the thoughts. If a winner recieves 49% of the vote is that a mandate? What % would you believe a mandate had been given?

Reid is still in? I suspect it's not Christmas, afterall. Senate got 51, which is comprised of 2 Independents.

30ashopper, I went to bed thinking it would be better for the Senate to have a Dem majority. Will be interesting, but they will be forced to work together and hopefully, accomplish more.

The Senate: Thank God the 2 two extreme Right wing nut cases did not make it --whew! Angle and O'Donnell, gone from sight! The other pipsqueak right wing nutcase (from Florida)got in--even though every other voter in Florida did not want him--he will "try" to be trouble -- I say, let the attack machine on him begin now, on all fronts--this means war! His office's in DC and Florida will know me by name !

Let's see if the "new" House will heed the warning......

That is definitely a relief! And thankfully I don't watch cable, where I suspect you will be treated to O'Donnell's musings in the future, in one way or another.

I am finding the Alaska write in of Murskowski to be very interesting to follow.
