Fair mechanic and/or oil change place?

I am looking for a place as close to 30a as possible, but quality is more important than convenience. I have an '05 Altima. I am due for an oil change, and the check engine light is on. Any suggestions?

We used Scotty's for the first time last week for the AC in the car. They only spent about 40 minutes on it and prorated the hourly rate. I would've thought a minimum 1 hour would be charged. I recommend them too.

Yeah, John Johns is horrible...I ended up spending a couple hundred more then I should have the one time I went there for some routine maintenance. Instead of charging a set rate for standard things like a tune up, they charged me by the hour...and they took their time! I was so mad....

I agree with the others. You can't beat Scotty's for fairness and he does it right the first time. My family has used him for years and I have never felt ripped off. He always calls you after he evaluates the problem and lets you know what the cost will be before he does the work and most of the time, it winds up being less.

I agree with the dis-satisfaction with John John's. I've only dealt with them twice and questioned their practices both times.
