Don't give up hope on the dahlias. Although they are supposed to be dug up in the fall, every now and then one of them proves to be a tough customer and refuses to die during the winter. I've had them sporadically return, just like rosemary, another one that's supposed to whither in the winter.![]()
I agree! I threw some dahlia bulbs away in the woods behind my house last fall because I did not think they were any good. Had beautiful dahlias growing at the edge of the yard this summer. Also was too lazy last fall to dig up the Calla Lillies - they looked 10 times better this summer than they have since I planted them. Sometimes it does pay to be lazy!
