My favorite holiday memories are all the one's that I have had for 13 years with my son. He is my only child and to say that he is spoiled rotten, well it is the truth. He is a miracle in more way's than one to me, so Christmas has alway's been about him. When he was little and Santa was still "real" were the most precious times. He would wake up early and come into my bedroom and say "Mommy do you think Santa has come to my house yet?" I would get up and grab his hand and say "Well I don't know, let's go see". When we walked into the living room and he saw his presents, he would just stand there in awe for a minute and then slowly walk over to the tree and look. He would turn around and look at me and say "Yep, I think he has been to my house". Today, it is a little different, but still special to me seeing him on Christmas morning.

*I heard on the radio about Christmas traditions when little IBD was smaller than she is now. I heard it and ran with it. Every year Mr. IBD goes and buys little ibd a new pair of pajamas. She opens and wears them christmas eve and for christmas morning. I hope this is something that the 2 of them will enjoy for years to come.

This is one my mom started for us and we continue this tradition in our family. I just bought Sam's yesterday. Cute mint green flannels with penguins on them. I still need to get Dylan's. I love it that your husband shops for her. How sweet.

I am so glad to be a part of this wonderful family for Christmas 2006.....thanks Kurt:love:

Me too. Kurt is the man.

dd, if you could survive that together, you can survive anything, right ?

yep, and we have so far. :D

DD - Wonderful Christmas story.....you have such an exciting life!

BSmart - Sitting in the dark and looking at the lights on my tree is one of my favorite things to do. Just tonight I was looking at the refection in a pciture on the wall and the tv screen....3-way lights.

My best Christmas memory...My oldest daughter was born on Dec. 22. In the nursery, each child was put in red stocking that we got to take home. She came home on Christmas morning in that stocking. A real gift! She still uses that stocking each year for Christmas on the mantle.

Yes, my life is just one exciting disaster after another!! :D

Wellington! We lived close to there in Arkansas City, KANSAS.

The rest of the story....
A couple of weeks later, we had to go back to Wellington, KANSAS to pick up the now repaired car (which by the way, had been in a flood the spring that I met mr. dd). So..we leave Dallas in a rental car and it's like 70 degrees. We get to Wellington, KANSAS and it's a beautiful sunny day---UNTIL we got out of the car! It was 8 degrees and the wind was blowing at least 200 mph! And, guess what. The heater in his car didn't work--go figure. So, more time in KANSAS. That's all I think about when I think of KANSAS, besides Dorothy and Toto of course, is how freakin' cold it was! (I did however, think the flint hills were very beautiful during the snow storm).
The Blues Mobile as mr. dd called it, was sold shortly thereafter to a company that sent it to Iraq. How fitting.

I didn't even put in the part about his dad going to pick up the car on New Year's and had to pull over cause some part was about to fall off, and went into a convenience store(in a less desirable part of KC) to use the phone and about got mugged.

You must have really liked Mr. dd . . . I would have thought, this relationship just wasn't meant to be. Good thing you got all the bad stuff out of the way in the beginning.
