The florist definitely appears in a bad light...
Let's allow some "room" to make it right.

:dunno:Before we go off the deep-end, it might be a good idea to find out if they're donating flowers to each family or something along that line?

Just a thought...
voice of good reason...
but I might be willing to bet that would be a NO....:sosad:

I agree they should have a chance to explain thier decision, hence the suggestion to contact them.

My house mom called me today and told me of this tragedy....:sosad:
None of the students were from my sorority, but they were all fraternity and sorority kids. 2 of the killed were best friends of one of my girls. One of the killed may be the brother of one of my girls.
It is horrible...I hate going to work tomorrow...this is such a sad thing for the college....:sosad: I hate to think about the families.
I'll keep you informed.

Hmm, I thought of you when I heard the news and wondered if you knew anyone involved. Very sad.

Here is the power of this board. Minnie called Rosewood Florist today! She talked to one of the managers and explained the situation. They reduced the amount of the bows.
Let me just say that this particular florist provides flowers to the Greek Village area on a weekly basis. The Greek Village has supported them for many years. For me it was not the money, but the principal. I felt they were not acting like a community supporter. The whole area has come together in support of the sororities and fraternities that were affected by this tradgey. I felt like the florist was not acting in goodwill. Some may argue that Greek Life can afford to pay for the bows...this is NOT the issue. The whole area was thrown into a sad and tragic situation, and the florist had an opportunity to create some love and support for this USC community, and failed to do so. :sosad:
Thank you Minnie, for taking the initiaitve (sp?) and dealing with the florist with a even tempered approach. I could not have done so well.

Thanks, it was nothing compared to what Alli is facing. Prayers for her and all of her Chi O girls and all the students at U of SC.

I remember the pain we all faced during the ATO fire at Ole Miss. My daughter lost a very dear friend in that fire, and calling the florist and explaining the situation to a manager was nothing. He was very gracious about it.

As Alli, said it was not about the cost or the money but the image it presented to all involved.

I have nothing but admiration for anyone willing to work with college students in any capacity and my hat goes off to Alli for her work.

Please continue to remember these families in your prayers, they have a very long road to face of grief and recovery.
