...because they are such drama queens when it comes to broadcasting the news.

For example, the word "Alert" flashed on and off the screen in red font while reporting the passing of Jerry Falwell.

"Alert" should be reserved for serious emergencies, like tornadoes.

lmao.....

I thought the same thing. It is unreal that the announcement of Falwell's death trumped the interview with Tony Blair (on NBC). I about threw the remote through the TV screen.

I don't watch news but I see it in passing every now and then. Why do businesses blare FOX NEWS at you? Why was it wide open in the last Doctor's waiting room I sat in? I asked the receptionist if she thought it was bad for health and she blankly stared, wishing I was not there.

FOX is leading the way but all news is about fear now, even CNN. Fear sells. Fear keeps people watching. Fear makes them wait through commercials. Fear is the biggest reason people purchase and consume. Fear makes people and a society sick. I can smell it on my skin.

Absolutely correct!

YOU are a target market. The American dream is no longer achieved through hard work and the satisfaction that comes with buying what you can afford. It now comes via Annual Percentage Rates, The Home Shopping Network and our obsession with what others have and we do not.

My favorite thing about Fox News is the morning show dumb blonde du jour. At first, I used to rail against Edie, thinking it was just her. Then, she went on maternity leave and virtual identical plastic blonde was inserted in her place. The formula is the same on all the Newscorp morning shows -- one self important serious guy, a funny Ed McMahon-esque guy, and a dumb blonde who says cutesy dumb things and laughs easily at herself. Like a good girl does.

Here goes a raving rant - and I am not being facetious - do people really take Fox News seriously???? Surely not - it is a joke!

Maybe it is still the 24% of people who still approve of the job Bush is doing :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ???????

Seriously though - it is very scary thinking that so many people get their news from Fox - my only consolation is that hopefully they stay in their corner - but they seem to vote in high numbers:dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

Chickpea, I must agree, Faux news is like the govt's channel in 1984. It's like it's sculpted news to keep the masses in line and waiting for the next soundbite. I can't take it.

I have held the belief for years that the only news being broadcast anymore is bad news: who got caught, how many died in the fire, this murderer, that molester, etc, etc. It's only news if it's bad. how about doing something really crazy and reporting on something good?
