I am not sure what your point was Justalocal, so correct me if I am wrong in your intent.

Are y'all suggesting that a Bank should give a $500K mortgage to a single person making 100K vs. 2 people bringing in $300K? or should the Bank give $500k to the family man/woman who has 3 kids and needs that 5 bedroom house who earn 100K? I just can't validate the argument. I also don't see what this has to do with how gay marriage affects society, which was the original question. :lol:

Both home and auto insurance have discounts for being married. Health insurance is underwritten differently for married vs. single people, because studies show married men are healthier and single people tend to have longer admissions to the hospital because it's harder to discharge them when there is no one to one at home to take care of the patient.

That's interesting...I wondered why they kept me 3 days for a laproscopic appendectomy!
