It's hitting hard here at home and across the country. Barbaro was such a fighter. I like the fact that there will be a Barbaro Stakes at the track where he was injured. I hope Churchill does something as well. The picture in this mornings paper was of him nibbling his blanket of roses the day after the Derby.

I just saw where Churchill Downs has offered burial for Barbaro here. The Jacksons have not annouced where they will lay him to rest. Other Derby winners, not sure who, are also in rest at the Downs.

usa today said there are 4 past derby winners buried there - that would be so cool to put barbaro there...

I think it's a nice tribute, to rest where he had such a great victory. He would always be celebrated. But I can see his owners wanting to have him at their home farm too.
