Saw sheriff deputy having a little chat with a couple on a golf cart this morning around Lakewood Drive. Don't know the outcome.
It is pretty bad when music is booming so much that you can't use your rear view mirrors because they're vibrating so much.![]()

I think more places should be golf cart friendly.
We just came back from a week on Bald Head Island off the coast of NC near Southport. Golf carts are the primary mode of transportation on the island because cars are not allowed. All drivers had to be licensed and they had police to enforce it. Exploring this beautiful island by golf cart was the highlight of our vacation. I think more places should be golf cart friendly.
just a thought here. Is Bay County going toward golf carts because the state has new, tougher scooter rules?
Maybe I can look into renting a golf cart for our stay at Watersound. We will be in a condo, so I'm not sure if there would be a place to re-charge it. Guess I need to check with the condo owner about that. Anyone know where I might be able to rent one for the week?My family stayed in Watersound this year and our rental came with a golf cart. It was great! My parents are in their 70's and it worked great for taking them to the beach, or beach club pool as well as our clan of youngsters. We also discovered that my 18 month old would quickly fall asleep before nap time and bedtime if we took him for a little ride in the golf cart. Must be something about the hum of the electric motor. We never took it outside the Watersound community. With the beach club and the resturaunt and facilities we didn't venture out all that much except for shopping and deep sea fishing.

If you are staying in a condo in Watersound you are probably within walking distance of everything beach, pool etc.. Do you know the name of the Condo. We stayed at Compass Point last year. This year we stayed in one of the smaller cottage homes near the main entrance just to the left. It was a little further to walk (still walking to beach club less than 8 minutes tops). Do you know if your rental comes with access to the beach club? If not I think it is a little extra for the week and worth it. There are also about 3 other pools in addition to the beach club as well as the Dune Sider Grill. We would get down to the beach about 10:00, stay until it got hot or we got hungry, then went to the beach club or the Dune sider Grill pool and eat lunch lounging pool side, maybe head back to the house for a bit or do some shopping in Seaside (less that 10 min car ride) then back down to beach for the evening fun with the family with drinks then back to the house and card games (spoons, spades, 31 and no video games) finally go to bead wake up next day repeat...
