I hear ya. When Daddy died, his brother stole documents that proved Daddy had paid back his brother and mother some money he had borrowed from them to open two new businesses. They asked Mom to pay them again and threatened to sue her. Somehow the trustee for the estate caused that not to happen -- don't remember -- off at college. Mom was so mad that she didn't speak to Daddy's family for years.
Mother told brother and his wife that they could have her dining room furniture some day. They assumed she meant when she moved into a smaller retirement home.
