So I have ask this interesting and important question --

Hellmanns Mayo OR Miracle Whip?

I was raised in a Miracle Whip household. Can't stand the stuff. When I discovered mayo at a neighbor's house, I thought I had found the best condiment ever!

Weigh in everyone- this is important. I have to figure out if I was somehow traumatized by Miracle Whip.

We only had miracle whip growing up. I thought it was mayonaise. I always HATED it. I started working at Wendy's in high school and discovered real mayonaise and thought the same thing! Best thing ever. I do think I was traumatized and feel very deprived of many years of loving mayonaise. Should we start a support group?

Have you ever heard of a Miracle Whip sandwich? That says it all.

Says it all good or says it all bad?

I was always curious if was a regional thing, like north/south. My mother was born in Minnesota and raised in Erie. We were the only family in town that had Miracle Whip.

Exactly my story too. I thought I had died and gone to heaven the first time I had a ham & cheese sandwich with mayo. So when I got out on my own I never bought Miracle Whip. But for months I could not understand why my tuna salad was not as good as my mother's tuna, well, she used Miracle Whip instead of mayo. So now I have both in my fridge.

What is the difference between Miracle Whip and mayo? I always thought they were the same thing. Punz insists Hellmans is the only acceptable mayo, but I think they all taste about the same.

Yes yes yes to being traumatized by repulsive Miracle Whip. That and Pepperidge Farm white bread were the bane of my childhood lunches. To this day, I can't stand either.

Jdarg, I'll bring you down some Trader Joe mayonnaise. Except that it might spoil you for regular store brands. ;-)
