Burt Reynolds, as a PI on one of several bad TV shows he did in the 80s/90s declared that he would park in the same spot on the driveway when a homeowner complained his leaky car had stained the driveway. Oil on asphalt is a time issue, in time it will fade.

OK, help me here. :dunno:

An out-of-state friend of mine visiting recently parked on the asphalt street of my gated community. His 1990 Volvo 240 dribbled oil, and God know what else, onto the asphalt on the street....

I bought something at Home Depot to remove it, and it made it worse--spread the stains further!!

Any home grown or homemade recipes to remove oil stains on asphalt before I get fined by my community??

If the asphalt is black I would not think it would matter, seeing as oil is black. But I don't know what you got at Home Depot but OIl Dri is something sold at Autozone and Advance Auto Parts, etc. Is that what you tried? It absorbs the oil. We have had oil stains in our garage and it completely took it up.

Hnooe on his knees, what's new? :funn:

Seriously though, isn't this the gated community that never has a working gate? Seems the priorities are out of whack.

My neighbor had an oil spill on his asphalt drive. He poured a bunch of kitty litter on the spot to soak up the oil, then hosed it off B/C if left the oil could cause some harm to the asphalt. But you know, things happen, would they fine you for something they should have anticipated to happen? An asphalt drive should expect some oil spills. Anyway, I hope you can minimize the damage and avoid any financial consequences. Good luck
