English, kitchen spanglish, and Iambic pentameter. I lived with a Franco American for some years, but she was more interested in beefing up her English than teaching me French.

Why is that? The best man in our wedding was from Guatamala. I think I spent more time helping him with his English that he spent teaching us Spanish. :rotfl:

I had Latin in school but barely remember school !
Still remember most of the German I learned working over there at the Flughaffen.
Learning Italian is my present goal. I would love to live there for the food alone.
Rome has some of the most incredibly cheap/good places to eat.

What did you say Raven?

Oh, I used to speak some Spanish, a little French, and a few choice Japanese words.

German, and some basic French. Actually, I think it's more fair to say that I can comprehend spoken French and read and write it, but I can't speak it. My French professor used to literally wince when I tried. A weird thing has happened with Spanish over the years...I can read it. I've never taken a Spanish class.

Has anyone ever tried Rosetta Stone? I've been toying with the idea of trying it to learn Spanish.

And speaking of other languages, does anyone know how to say either tsunami or super in French?

I can speak Mexican sign language. You know the kind where you point to the broom and make a sweeping motion with your hands, and then you say something like, "Het werk, of ik zal uw werkgelegenheid eindigen." When they look confused, I say, "Dije, trabajo, o terminar? su empleo."
