Phone book repurposing ideas

Yesterday YET ANOTHER set of phonebooks were delivered. Is this the 4th set this year? We vowed we'd find some way to put these to good use...

Since there are no toddlers in the house that need seat boosting...
**absorb bacon grease on phone book pages instead of newspaper. (I use 1 paper towel so food doesn't come in contact w/ ink).
**flower bed weed inhibitor

Anybody else have ingenious ideas for the phone books?

uhhhhhhhhhhhhh........... phone books are so last century. I can't keep 'em much less use 'em. they take up too much space. but I do look forward to seeing some really cute ideas here though! hahaha. can't think of a single one at the moment. well, I guess I could use a couple of 'em as a booster seat for ME while driving the beach truck.

Make giant spit-balls out of them and wait for the next delivery van. :D

I ran them off our street a couple of months ago. Saw them again a couple of weeks ago and marched out to the road ready to stomp and cuss. He actually said i was on the "do not deliver" list. I did send an email last year. I don't know if i'm really on a list, but that's what he said.

We must be vigilant! :cuss:

I don't mind having ONE set laying around... that's perhaps updated every couple of years.

It can be convenient to have them in the vehicle when I'm over in FWB or PC and may need to look up multiple businesses
(I refuse to pay $1.50+ per call to information).

Sometimes I have out of town visitors that like to carry one in the car while they go exploring & sightseeing in the area.

However, this growing phonebook phenom reminds me of that comedienne's routine from a few years ago about white plastic lawn chairs...
"WHERE are they all coming from & WHAT do they want???"

It's funny when i told my brother i had to run them off every 3 to 4 months, he said "you have a problem with phone book deliveries? Never heard that one"

So I thought 'yeah, i guess when your phone book is the size of the average coloring book, you don't have that problem in bumflick Georgia'

I have lashed all of mine together into an 8 foot tall tower. It is poised on the rail of my deck ready to be dropped on the next phonebook deliverer.

Maybe we should have a parade and make all of the floats out of phonebook paper mache'
