I'm not Kimmi, but I can report in...my sister lives in NYC, and just called--over 2 feet of snow since yesterday...no subways, buses, taxis are running, no businesses are open--its a real mess. Of course, the airports were closed some time ago.
Meanwhile, we're less than 200 miles upstate--and there's a half inch on the ground, and the snow stopped. (we couldn't go skiing or sledding--not enough snow on the ground!)

My son's at college in Boston--he reported earlier today that Boston was also a mess, and that it was "snowing like crazy".

How much snow? This much.....The National Weather Service said 26.9 inches of snow had fallen in Central Park, the most since record-keeping started in 1869. The old record was 26.4 inches in December 1947.

That is a ----load of snow!!!! I don't think K-funn could get out to go sledding if she wanted to!

And isn't she dog sitting for a weiner dog? I'm having a visual of her taking him out for a walk. He will need a snorkle. Or I guess a "snowkle" in this case. Poor little thing is gonna freeze his little, um, part off!

We had 3 inches of snow fall here Friday. A good bit still on the ground as it is only 32 here. Streets are clear though. This is the kind of snow to have. It was pretty. Golf ball size looking flakes. We usually get passed by all the time. Talked to my son in Clarksville, Tennessee near the Kentucky border. He and his wife are there visiting her family. They waited a day to go because of the snow and now he said it was snowing there again. This is the first snow we have had all winter other than some flurries back in December and in January. This will be all we will see this winter probably.

You guys should know by now that I spend Sundays at the Red Bar. I think this 55F degrees weather we have today is cold as ba-geezers, and there is no way in hell that by choice, I would be in NYC encountering a snow storm. Actually, Gotothebeachmom and gttbdad were buying my drinks today. :dunno:  :D

I'm here! I'm cold, but I'm here! I woke up at about 9:30 this morning and the snow was comin down! The subways were running on local stops so getting anywhere was doable, but took a little time. I went straight uptown where my friends and I cooked a huge breakfast- grocery stores were open by this time. We let our food settle, strapped on our Under Armor and headed to the park. We went sledding for about 3 and a half hours. It was so much funn. The snow fell until about 3 or so. I think there was about 2 feet in the park. We saw James Gandolfini sledding with his son. We took out some people...got popped with a sled for running a man over, got called a-holes (not our fault) and got soaking wet and freezing cold. My friend took some great pics so when we get them I'll post some. Downtown is still pretty dead. Not many cars on the road at all. Washington Square park was so pretty in white. Now I'm just unthawing. The weiner is fine. His dads got stuck in Argentina so I have the weiner for 2 more nights. I'm at chez Kimmi for a while now though. :clap_1:
