I tell you what, why dont you demolish your house and plant trees. Let's face it, we take up space and that is why animal populations have to be managed.

Put your money where your mouth is.

Oh good a complete over reaction, like hunting bears.

Another BS theory!!

Every time you type you come off more and more like a "good ole boy" trophy hunter.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife actually did put their money where their mouth was back in 2012 when they introduced the BMP (Bear Management Plan). That plan DID NOT include hunting! It wasn't until 2015 that the FWC changed its position (due in large part to the rich and powerful influence in Tallahassee) who know there is money to be made just as TROPHY Ranches have done.

Fact is, we are encroaching on their habitat, they are not encroaching on ours. We do NOT have to kill them to effectively manage them and even the FWC ACKNOWLEDGES that hunting black bear will NOT end human bear conflicts.

Ever seen Dr. Strangelove?

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Uh, Jack, Jack, listen... tell me, tell me, Jack. When did you first... become... well, develop this theory?

General Jack D. Ripper: [somewhat embarassed] Well, I, uh... I... I... first became aware of it, Mandrake, during the physical act of love.

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Hmm.

General Jack D. Ripper: Yes, a uh, a profound sense of fatigue... a feeling of emptiness followed. Luckily I... I was able to interpret these feelings correctly. Loss of essence.

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Hmm.

General Jack D. Ripper: I can assure you it has not recurred, Mandrake. Women uh... women sense my power and they seek the life essence. I, uh... I do not avoid women, Mandrake.

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: No.

General Jack D. Ripper: But I... I do deny them my essence.

The hunt is on in Florida. Makes me sick, literally. All kinds of photos on Facebook. This photo is in Lake City.

O'Wal
I was at the Longhorn Steakhouse in Lake City Wednesday. I did think my steak was a little gamey.

This was a disgusting display of power, trophy hunting and testosterone. I hope all of you remember this when it comes time to vote. Three quarters of the State's residents were against this hunt, so someone in office needed to get their friends out their to show their mammalian superiority. I'll never understand culling one tenth of the total population in a State.
I am a Yankee who has lived peacefully with black bear for 22 years. We keep out garbage cans locked, we wear bells on our shoes when walking at night and we keep compost and bird feed far from our homes. Black bear also eat deer and help keep the deer population down. I can say I am proud to have watched this bear walk peacefully through my yard and we are only 1 hour from NYC.

"Being good shepherds of bears involves making [your food, your pet’s food, the bird feeder, the garbage can] unavailable to bears, but it goes further than that. It also involves learning enough to know that it’s okay to be ‘top dog’ to a bears. It doesn’t ‘insult’ a bear to be put in its place; this happens to them most days with other bears, already. Not letting a bear graze in your front yard isn’t ‘harassing’ it; it is merely asserting your personal space, something bears totally understand. You don’t have to like bears to do these things; understanding these simple principles can help keep them out of your way, as well as saving their lives."
