How are the beaches holding up at Blue Mtn and Seagrove on 30 A-keep us up to date with pictures. I am sure the ocean is rough but it is beautiful in a way too. Just finished my Friday work in Long Term Care and hate to watch the WC, such drama. Hope everyone stays safe!

SoWal photos today - http://sowal.com/photos-091208.html

From the areas I have seen, it looks like Gustav, and now Ike have done a good job of adding sand to the beach.

The water has exposed old cypress (I believe) stumps in front of One Seagrove Place. Fortunately, the walkways have held up to all the wave action and water. Our thoughts and prayers to everyone along the Texas and Louisiana coast tonight. It looks as if it will be devastating.

Thank you for the pictures of submerged Hwy. 98. What a freakin storm. It's hard to comprehend the pictures of SoWal from a storm that is making eyewall landfall some 600+ miles away! Any updates on storm surge/beach erosion in SoWal?? How does it compare to Gustav?? Any chance this storm could permanently suck Geraldo away?? Darn thing made a fine attempt earlier!

YouTube - Geraldo Rivera Takes a Spill!

In all seriousness-hope everyone is safe and thanks in advance for any updates.

A surfer friend came down to to stay with us to surf yesterday and today. He didn't do anything yesterday -- said the waves were too disorganized. He and hubby left early this AM to go to PCB. There were about 100 surfers there, but only two of them thought the waves were right. Hubby took a lot of photos. I'll post some later.

It's absolutely beautiful here today. The sky is clear, there's a nice breeze, and I'm enjoying watching CNN while watching the amazing waves on the Gulf.

Hurricane Ike was good to us. We have a lot of new sand on the beach in front of our neighborhood.:D

I received this link today. Not sure if anyone had seen these pictures. I can't believe the devastation these poor people are having to endure.

Yes, these pictures really make me realize we are only going through a little inconvenience here in Ohio. Our food went bad, lost a few trees and were without power for a while but it's really nothing compared to most folks.

School was out again today. We should hear something soon regarding tomorrow. Our power is on so I am back home. :)))

Yea for power! We lost power for 2 weeks after Ivan and it was almost unbearable!
