On top of some of his decisions rubbing me wrong, I am very unhappy with how my guy Barry has seemingly pissed away an opportunity to shine in his response to the oil spill. The way I feel right this second, I can't say I would vote for him in 2012. So riddle me this-

who do you believe could be running against hIm that is worth considering and why?

Note: I don't consider myself a democrat or a republican so no one is off limits due to party affiliation or lack thereof.

Honestly, I'm feeling the same way, but then I realize the scope of the problems he faces every day. Some problems simply don't have answers. The oil spill is one of those. Afghan is one of those. The economy is one of those. And I don't mean, they don't have good answers. I mean they don't have answers, period. They are things we will have to live with. To get to your question, I don't see anyone on either side nearly as capable as he.

I admire your honesty Geo. Leaders in both parties continue to disappoint me on a daily basis. I'm looking for a strong fiscal conservative - a la Chris Christie, a strong leader in times of crisis - a la Rudy Guiliani, and someone who is savvy in foreign affairs - a la Newt Gingrich. I don't care if they are republican or democrat, black, white or purple.

I don't know who might be running yet but the one who possesses the majority of the above qualities will get my vote.

Do you think Bill Clinton would run again? I heard him talking about the four priorities that SHOULD be happening with the government and this oil leak. He stated that plugging the hole should be number one, and further down at number four should be finding those responsible and punishment. He was basically saying that Pres. Obama has it all backwards.

Geo, I recently reflected back to those commercials that he or Hillary ran (or maybe both of them ran) with the red phone ringing at 2am, and I cannot help but to think that Pres Obama must have had his ear plugs in when that red phone was ringing with this leak. The red phone has been ringing for 72 days now.

His stump speech was really good, and people not liking Bush and scared to death of Palin, is what got Obama elected. On a side note, at least pretty boy John Edwards wasn't the Dem nominee.

I am far from pleased with Obama as President, but I would also likely be just happy with McCain.

And where has Biden been hiding? I hope he doesn't kill the internet just yet.

Sadly, I haven't been disappointed by our Presidents for a while. Being disappointed implies that I had good expectations from them to start.

At the risk of being attacked, I'd like to express that every President has had a unique set of issues on his plate. This President is no different and I, too, am extremely unhappy and quite baffled at how little has been done with this mess in the Gulf.

In my experience, when action is not being taken, it has eventually surfaced that there was an underlying issue. I am not saying that's the case with the Gulf, but.........just sayin'.

I don't see anyone on either side nearly as capable as he.

I never considered Obama capable, he came into office without leadership experience...he came in with a personal agenda, he came in with a Chicago "Thug" type way of how to get things done. He surrounded himself with folks who had the same agenda...an agenda to change America....he is too thin skinned... he wants, and tries to shut down those that don't agree with him...he scares the hE!! out of me. To not be concerned about spies, to not take terrorist seriously, to bad mouth America while traveling in other countries, to lie to the American people about taxes...the list of his faults can go on and on.

As to who should we look to for 2012...I am not sure if anyone out there can fix the mess that will have occurred by then...our debt will be impossible to pay off, our health care will be in ruins, we will have lost so many jobs, our country will be loaded with illegals, the list goes on and on. It is very sad to even think about. Crises need to be dealt with as they occur,,,you can't take a wait and let me think about it approach. We needed those skimmers in the gulf on day 2 of the spill. 70+ days later with our beautiful Gulf dotted with tar and oil, he might allow foreign help...he certainly didn't take lots of time thinking about signing bills most Americans didn't want and asking Congress to pass unread bills, did he ? As a retired person on a fixed income.. I hate to see what 2012 will bring...I can't see a reason for anyone to want to run for office, other than for the desire to fly all over in the Presidental plane...which Obama seems to enjoy doing among his other duties(?)

I am disgruntled too, mostly about not extracting us from Afganastan....I will be a supporter too, albeit disgruntled as well...I don't see anyone on the other side whose neck is free of the noose of the Tea Partiers or any of the many derrivates of that unorganized group.

I'd still rather listen to Obama than Rush Limbaugh.

How scary is that thought?! Personally, 2012 can't get here fast enough for me.....any potential candidate, from any political persuasion, will be an improvement. What we need is someone with insight, military/business experience, ability, dedication, humility, decisiveness, intestinal fortitude, forthrightness, empathy, worldliness, etc., etc., etc., over one with "book smarts" and ego. Figure the odds....
