I wish Bobby Jindal would just STFU. He complains the government won't authorize any help yet he has had permission to use 6000 National Guard troops but only chose to use 15% of them. His state's coastline is covered in black goo but he wants to punch more holes in ocean floor not giving a damn that it is affecting wildlife and coastlines in the three states to the east including Florida that doesn't have rigs and doesn't want them. Thousands of businesses, the jobs that go with them and a way of life are being destroyed but his only concern is his state is losing a few jobs on the 1% of rigs affected by the moratorium. You may not like Obama but at least he never ran away from his given name. If a hurricane comes I wish they would stuff Jindal in the hole to plug it till the storm passes.

Pretty strong words Poppy. I think Jindal has handled the oil spill in his area like a true leader would. He is fighting for his state. He has been on it since day 1. As far as the oil rigs...they supply jobs, and money to the area. I understand him completely and I ALSO UNDERSTAND his frustration with the Obama government...they arrived late to the party and didn't bring a gift.

Obama didn't run away from his name?....didn't he go by Barry in college?

Don't worry about Jindal. After that little Misterrogers moment on national television, he's going nowhere. "Hello boys and girls, I'm Bobby Jindal, and I wanna be your friend.:D"

I think he might choose to be a one term president because he is making far-sighted choices that will be obviously unpopular in a four year cycle. I can't believe people are ready to throw him under the bus after one and a half years. I didn't hate Bush right off the bat. I was indifferent until he decided to invade Iraq even though most of the country thought it was a mistake.

A healthcare bill designed by special interests that'll hike all our premiums and inflate the national debt, bailing out auto companies and the unions and investment banks, national debt 100%+ as a percentage of GDP, 50%+ of GDP engulfed by government spending, failing to close Guantanamo, continued quagmire in Afghanistan, Iran running amuck in the middle east, border still not secure, tax hikes, ...

He'll be a one termer alright, but it won't be by choice, and it'll be for a lot of very good reasons.

To answer your original question Geo - I don't know of any good candidates right now for 2012. I don't know of many good politicians to be honest. Washington is a soup of corruption and infighting run by people completely isolated from reality. It's a mess, and I don't think any one person can fix it.
