11 years ago I moved off of 30a and up to BFE. But I still commuted the 100 mile round trip 5-6 days a week that whole time. Now that I haven't worked out there for 3 years, I've only been back 5-6 times a year!
After 23 years. It IS possible, but not recommended. Now when I go back I feel like a stranger in a strange land. Fortunately I'm still connected via Sowal.com.
This will be your home away from home IBD. Visit often.
We'll leave the Welcome 'Matt' out for you. Feel free to wipe your feet on him anytime!

Congratulations. And remember, every move doesn't have to be permanent. We moved to Chicago for better education, culture. But we always knew "it's not forever".

We certainly dont plan on this being permanent, that is why we are going to keep property here...

Well, finally! I am so sorry I almost let the cat outta the bag (which is easier than putting it back in, btw;-)) with my little Shreveport post. I am sad for you, happy for you, happy for me! I simply cannot wait til we can lose all our money in Shreveport and until I have a flop house on the way to SoWal!!!After all, it IS always about me.

Dang, just as I am moving down you are moving out. You were one of the first SoWaller's I met in person. I'm gonna miss you, but you'll always have a place to stay ;-)

A little sad for SoWallers who will miss you, and very happy for you! And I'm sure you'll all be back at least for a visit - perhaps during soiree weekends. Congratulations on making this important decision that sounds just right for you all.

As you know Paula, sometimes change is for the better, and this is great for us for this chapter in our life.

IBD, I just got to meet you last August. I hope you will still be around the second week of May when we are down. I'd like to be able to get together again for lunch while I am down, somewhere close by that I won't get lost finding. Pier Park has a lot of restaurants, Margaritaville comes to mind. I know you hate to leave the beach as I would also. But Louisiana is nice. Haven't been to Prairieville but I've spent 10 days in the Lafayette area and loved it. Best wishes to you and your family. It was nice getting to meet you last year and nice chatting with you through the message board. Good luck to you all.

I think I will be here 2nd week in May. PM me and we will make plans.... I dont think that there is that much in Prairieville to see but Ascention parish has some nice old homes and is home to BlueRunner Beans!!!

Now you can come on vacation to the beach and actually have some funn (us locals get too caught up in daily life sometimes and forget the have funn at the beach)!
