Tear jerkers: My Dog Skip. When Skip lies on the bed when his boy goes to college makes me bawl like there's no tomorrow. I'm talking heavy heaves!
Greyfair's Bobby too! (sp)
Terms of Endearment
Brian's Song - same thing
Love Story - same thing
I know I'm dating myself on the last two; I have seen them many, many times and the tears just flow like the first time!
Oh yes, My Dog Skip just about tore my heart out.

I happened to catch "Born into Brothels" yesterday afternoon on the IFC channel. Now that was a depressing movie (documentary). Sad, sad, sad.

Calcutta looked worse than I could ever imagine once you get off the main streets (which never look great to begin with) and into the red-light district. The way these prostitute mothers and their children have to live just to survive. But to see these sweet children laughing and playing and always smiling is beyond comprehension to me. It sure makes me think how lucky we truly are to live in America.

Oh man.... My Dog Skip made me cry way more than I expected.
And we watched Brian's Song in class sometime in middle school and there were quite a few of us reduced to tears by the end.
Rudy also makes me tear up a little.

Just recently watched Bridge to Tarabithia
That stuff aint supposed to happen in a Disney movie !!
Supposed to be happy endings !!

I never saw the movie, but I remember the book from when I was little. It's a very sad story.

Ok...y'all are gonna laugh and probably never let me hear the end of it....but the one that made me blubber like a baby was..and still is...The Way We Were. When Babs reaches up and brushes that lock of hair aside, I lose it every time.

OH DD! you've just brought back a load of memories. I am a Babs fan - at least of some of her movies. The Way We Were ! I must see it again. it has been ages.

one of my favorites of all time is A Star is Born.

I liked White Oleander - loved the book more though.
A River Runs Through It - 5 stars!
Perfect Storm.
Walk the Line - Funny, Depressing, Heartwarming all at the same time.
Most Depressing of all time: Leaving Las Vegas.

Leaving Las Vegas is great. Making love to E. Shue strikes me as a pretty good way to leave this world. As Roger Ebert, who named the film his best of 1995, said, "The only depressing movies are bad ones."

See you at the flicks.

It was great in the sense that it made you feel. Period. For him, he couldn't love himself and to watch someone spiraling down, without hope was the most depressing of all. I wanted Elisabeth's character to love him enough to make him stop but when you saw that wasn't enough, you knew it was over. The fact that is was a true story made me sick to my stomach.
