I was in front of Lily Pads in Grayton Beach this morning and saw this wintry site. (Sadly, I only had my cellphone camera with me, but it turned out OK.)

I love winter too... I grew up in Illinois and northern Wisconsin, I miss all four seasons... Yes it gets cold and miserable and cabin fever gets really intense come february/march, but there's nothing more exhilarating to me than a cold day spent playing in the snow (skiing, sledding, ice skating) followed by a hot fire, hot chocolate, hot soup and a hot bath!

Of course, a hot day at the beach isn't bad either...

IMHO, anybody that likes winter is demented in a really contorted way!!!

don't need winter for those, but they are comforting and lovely in winter!

I don't think I would have loved winter before good home insulation and heating systems were widely available (not so long ago, huh?).

I spent one christmas holiday in Chicago with friends. there was quite a bit of snow. it was cold cold cold! I remember bob sledding - a blast! leg warmers ; big coats and warm hats, scarves and all; we ran everywhere we went from here to there (to get out of the cold); going into the bar and taking your layers of warm coats off, then remove your hat - HAT HAIR CITY! but no one cares.

but I would rather be by the fire.

If I could afford to, I would spend mid Feb through mid march in a temperate climate like Maui.
