Just say that you have a captive audience which is waiting with bated breath to hear you talk. About anything. They love you! They want to know your thoughts! They promise not to throw tomatoes at the end!

So what are you talking about? What is something near and dear to your heart that if you had the opportunty to expound on it to a sympathetic audience, they'd get an earful?

I'd share my thoughts about travel...the difference between a traveler and a tourist. The education one gets from experiencing a place different from the last...the adventure of seeing what is around the next bend...the moments of being with a stranger, who quickly becomes more than that, because of the shared experience.

The joy that lasts a lifetime when one has memories of special places and unexpected delights...the openness that comes from going where you have never been. The understanding that can be yours even though there may be language and cultural barriers...the satisfaction that comes from touching the"spark" of another human being, even if there are no words to explain.

The wonder of another sunrise, a child's laugh, an ocean's wave, an eagle soaring...a moment experienced and held forever in your soul.

Digg it! Me too....... ;-) Very few people (that I know) really get into travel like this. When the economy tanked a friend told me she figured I would sell everything and travel the world......in retrospect, maybe I should have! :dunno:

I would share it here, but I hope to put it into book someday, and don't want to spoil it. In a nutshell, it would be about looking beyond the ups and downs of the present moment, learning about your true passion in order to help steer yourself to the life you want to live.

May I give my speech in conjunction with yours? You could talk of the sheer poetry of discovering the world, and I could tell them how to do it, like how not to overpay at car rentals at the airport and how to book train tickets in far flung places, etc. We'd be a good team!

You could join GoodWitch and me when you come back home and tell everyone your adventures (why do I know you will have adventures ).

You must promise to do this. Must. Must. Must.

The importance of family. I would hope I would be talking to an audience of 18 and under. I would tell them to stay close to parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles. To see them, talk to them as often as they can. Because, before they know it they will all be gone. The time will pass so fast and they will look back and wish they had more time with them. I would tell them to sit with their parents and grandparents and really talk to them. I sure wish I still had that opportunity. As I age I realize how much I really, really miss my family. I would tell them to make time in their busy lives for family, because truely they are the one's that will be with you no matter what!

I would but I have these two little boat anchors called Sweet Pea and p***y.....can't split up the family. And, I'm not organized enough to get rid of my stuff.....that would take til the economy was booming again and I'd miss out on something groovy! ;-)
