I don't think so. There was a boil water advisory in Seagrove. Our dog doesn't drink a lot of water. She was sucking down Dasani like crazy. When the advisory was over, she drank water at her usual pace.

If a dog knows the difference, ...

But this is tangential to the thead.

So you like everything local except your water. Got it.

True story-Last week at Watercolor Publix some tourist lady was wearing out the manager because the store was sold out of Dasani. It was so fierce I was tempted to tell her she was a fool for paying an arm and a leg for Atlanta tap water, but you know, I am all about giving the tourons their space so they never stop coming.

If I may be tangential for a spell, some of us are aware of the great Penn and Teller episode from their Bovine Doo Doo series where they address this. I would post the video, but let's just say they have a way with words, and the recently relaxed FCC standards on language may not apply here.

Let's say that we like South Walton so much that we are building a home-home (no rentals) at the beach. I only work 26 weeks a year. Hubby can fly to his overseas clients from the new PCB airport, so it works!

We don't love the local water anywhere. We always have a 5-gallon cooler of bottled water available. Or at least Dasani.

We don't like the bread anywhere except in NOLA and the old Eatzi's in ATL. Can't do anything about that because I stink at baking. Does someone have any suggestions where we can buy good bread in South Walton?

LuciferSam, you are being so Luciferish! LOL.

Dasani is tap water with magnesium sulfate, potassium chloride, and sodium chloride added. The extra salt is what makes the dog drink more of it.

Chanticleer Bakery makes good bread. Get it at the farmer's market or their shop at the old Fire location in Grayton.

Isn't drinking a name-brand drink like Dasani or Coca-Cola the moral equivalent of shopping or eating at a chain store? Shouldn't you be drinking local water and locally made soft drinks? Shouldn't you be tapping on a homemade computer running on locally produced software? I can be as Luciferish as Sam...

I'm an Atlantan, so buying Coca-Cola products sustains the local economy.

Just one ol' man's take on bottled water, and to him, other such nonsense. The first tour in Vietnam made my perception of the human body's immune system, whether correct or not. Many of us ate on the economy, drank Vietnamese beer when out and generally acted like a native. We had one guy that wouldn't touch anything that wasn't purified or made in our mess hall. Guess who came down with the worst case of dysentery you could imagine. Since then I have pretty much let nature take its course and I have rarely been ill. No regular bottled water for me though we do run our local water through a filtering system. Not because we think it will protect our health but because it is part of our refridgerator system. I might add we do maintain bottled water for emergencies such as hurricanes.
