I heard that it was actually an altercation between 2 patrons and the staff was only trying to break up the fight and they (staff) are the ones that called police and the ambulance. Guess it goes without saying that the patrons involved appeared to be intoxicated, huh?

I spoke with an employee, yesterday, and she missed it. Did anyone get treated by the paramedics? I know most of the girls who work there, and cannot see them opening a can of Whoop-@ss on anyone, especially a customer.

I know several of them too and cant see any of them "assaulting and/or injuring" ANY customer. From what I heard (from an employee that was there) that one of the guys got a busted nose and that is why they called for paramedics, just to make sure that the customer was OK. And from what I understand..(I could be wrong..this is second hand information....so no threats of lawsuits please....) it was because someone was taking to long in the bathroom and the poor man got accosted when he came out, which then spilled over into the restaurant, and that the employees where just trying to get the situation diffused and OUT of the place. But it seems that there are ALOT of "sue-happy" visitors in our area right now since another dining establishment was threatened over something stupid this weekend also.

My understanding is that the patron in question had to call for the ambulance himself, (cell phone records corroborate). Subsequently, he had been punched unconscious after being lead outside the restaurant by (allegedly) 2 employees.

No broken noses.

Local patron. Medical reports shown no intoxication or drug use.

Allegedly, the patron had been involved in a verbal altercation with members of the Caf? Rendezvous staff and another female patron who (unconfirmed) identified herself as the bartender?s girlfriend.

Story is uncorroborated at this time therefore the need for witnesses to come forward.

I have no problem with business owners/staff escorting individuals out of their establishment for whatever justified reason. I have a big problem with those individuals being physically harmed by that staff, should that prove true.

Representatives of Caf? Rendezvous are welcome to post their account of the incident.

Did the man say what he did to allegedly get punched? Was it justified? I've been to Cafe Rendevouz several times and have never been punched unconscious, although one of the cute servers does like to tackle me with a hug. Just wondering if he brought it on himself.

The story I heard was similar to the bathroom story in a previous post. The server walked the guy out and was going to call him a cab. The guy hit the employee first and the employee proceeded to whip his azz, which by the way, only took one punch. Sounds like the guy is a drunk and a wimp as well as obnoxious. And I understand that there are plenty of witnesses, none of which will help the "victim". A word to the wise, let it rest.

There's really no reason a customer should be punched by an employee unless he attacked one of them. Hitting on a girlfriend would not qualify. I don't know anything about what happened but those are pretty serious allegations and probably shouldn't be posted on a local board unless someone has first hand information about what happened.

Gee. I thought incidents of this sort happened only in the ladies' rooms....By the way does anyone know what the outcome was on the shoplifting at Seaside that was said to involve business women from Auburn? Was that dropped or simply classified by authorities as shoplifting secondary to menopause

Yea - I'm sure the medical records reflect the guy was sober as a judge. There's no partying that goes on at Rendevouz. It was just one of those nights for some good ole fashioned commraderie at the local Bible study when a disagreement over the interpretation of some scripture passages turned ugly. You better hope for a jury of your client's peers because it will take 12 as drunk and stupid as him to believe that he was sober at midnight at Rendevouz.

That might be crossing the line. I can say that I have been known to go out to bars and not drink alcohol. Not everyone in a bar is drinking. I have no idea whether or not this guy was, but neither do you, full-time.
