One LAST thing- nor has my husband ever been arrested. And to answer the question of why he became upset: my husband is a heavily accented Hispanic gentleman who felt he had been discriminated upon by another bar patron and the staff. After paying $58.00 for a glass of wine (just what are they serving at Cafe Rendezvous?) I imagine I would have been upset too...

English is the second language in Rendevouz. You'd have more credibility for the discrimination claim if your husband was a plain spoken, white southern male. Those poor slobs don't have a chance with the chicks at Rendevouz.

Obviously we have the call records. Apparetnly, my husband is much more trustworthy than Ms Jodi's husband or kids. I never suspected any "unsavory activity" on his part any more than I suspected he ever punched anyone twice in the face. (he is the nice one of the two of us) At any rate, I am now jumping out of this public forum so as not to arm the enemy with any more knowledge. Remember readers, if no one takes a stand than nothing changes- and this is officially a stand. This could be your family member next time....

Again, I am curious as to exactly who you think the "enemy" is...and why the police, responding to either a disturbance / signal 2 / signal 20 call, seem to be the focus of your wrath. :dunno:

I find this whole thread distasteful and disturbing  (and quite sad)

Chain of evidence has been broken no doubt. The worst thing for you and the best the for the Police is to keep shooting your mouth off your just giving them more ammo. Take it to court just remember when the ask the soon to be appointed jurors have or do you know anything about this case? Yea I read all about it on SoWal. For everyone else be smart enough to get out of jury duty.

CJane, I thought the newspaper article was worded a little wrong about the check total and the reference to the man having only one drink. I was guessing that there was also food on that check, but the reporter had left that out, leaving the reader to believe that the one glass of wine cost $58. Your statement above sounds as though the man was charged $58 for one glass of wine. Is that accurate? I know wine is costly, but unless they are selling Grand Cru's, Dominus, Opus One, or something by the glass, I find it difficult to believe than any non-wealthy person would pay $58 for one glass of wine. Were other people drinking on his tab?

Can you elaborate on how your husband was discriminated? Was it because he isn't French? It seems this case has nothing but question marks.

I would also like to point out that for certain cell carriers, it is well known that Seaside is a black hole as far as signal is concerned. And that even though those calls/texts are in the wifes cell it doesnt mean that they actually went through to the other persons phone.

you have a police department with a history of complaints and a shady cafe most residents would like closed.why then would you not believe this could happen?the news account was far from factual and painted a poor image of the patron and the events.a view of the tardy police report will verify that.why so much trouble to hide the truth we are all entitled to?calamity keep up the good fight!to the rest of you lend your support and don"t give up your rights one at a time.

Residents of Seaside - really? I thought people lived there only in the movies. BTW, you just accused 90% of the people in South Walton of hangin out in "shady" places. Nice.
