Come on down gulls! This has been such a weird winter...I know y'all have had warmer days as well. It's really been like Spring.

Very true. We've been wondering if we were going to have winter at all.
More like Iowa weather than ND weather. We really can't complain and this cold spell won't be too long since it's already Feb. I just thought the "hypothermia and death" part of the advisory sounded pretty intense. Not something you southerners deal with. You just get the hurricanes!
I'll take the cold, thank you very much.

Ouch - I was just looking at our predicted high of 16 for Saturday, but I don't think I'll complain.

Bundle up and keep warm!

I know one thing. (OK..2) My husband is going to be the one who goes to pick up our daughter in a half an hour and both cats will be wanting to stay in all night!

Keep those poor kitties in! Bless their hearts!

I experienced my "insulated ski mask time" when I spent four weeks in Cambridge trying to talk my daughter into staying at MIT. I used to think that scarves and gloves were fashion accessories; after that experience, I understood that they were necessities! It was a miserable experience - too cold to walk to the dining hall; too cold to wait outside for campus transportation; cabs cost at least $15 each way to get to a restaurant, so that wasn't a backup for classes and meals. I paid for my daughter to take cabs to and from class so she wouldn't be sick all of the time from being out in cold weather. The subzero temperatures and the people with no social skills helped me understand why she wanted to leave. We were happy to welcome her back to her birthplace, Atlanta.

My husband was born and reared in Madison, WI. He'd never go back. Now he thinks GA is too cold. LOL.

Both my husband and I were born and raised in ND and believe it or not, wouldn't want to live any place else. There are enough good things here to outweigh the few days of extreme bitter air. (though we do like to get out of here occasionally and head south - WAY south!)

For the rest of the night we'll hunker down in front of the Golf Channel and dream about Hawaii.
