Christmas sends atheists into fits? I've never witnessed that. I'm an unabashed atheist and I enjoy the holidays. Say "happy holidays" to a conservative christian and you'll see genuine fits of rage and accusations of waging a "war on Christmas". Fox News even devotes two full months of the year to battling this imaginary war.
Atheists don't believe any religious group has the right to hijack dates on the calendar and expect everyone to practice their rituals.

As far as sins go I have to tell you no one died for my sins. I don't believe in sinning because I don't believe in a supreme being. Growing up in the church I always found it strange that just about anything that brought pleasure was considered a sin.
