My DH and I will start out making fun of a currently used phrase, then find ourselves using it! For example "DUDE!" or (from the beer commercial) "Luv ya', man!" Since we don't have kids, I guess we are our own teenagers .....
A few of my favorite sayings that get under Bobby J's skin are~The hell you say~ and ~That dog'll hunt~
But the one that really gets him going is ~I'm just before...~ Used in a sentence it would go like this, Hey Bobby, stop cracking those eggs while I am standing in the kitchen, I'm just before having a panic attack.
I swear the boy secretly loves it when I talk Freeport.
Nails on a chalkboard - I hear it and am just waiting for my crazy English teacher's wrath (or yardstick) to descend.
She spent year beating phrases like that out of us ............... and annoying other teachers by taking us outside for "primal" screams to destress us.
I've never heard, "I'm just before," and I rather digg it. Thank you! I just know my friends from NC will know exactly what I'm talking about and then I'll affectionately name them "Freeport."
